I can't believe the direction is this stupid, as if nude pictures were illegal nowadays anyway. What's illegal is going through someone's personal belongings without their permission, Hell, police can't use incriminating evidence if it wasn't acquired legally, so why would legal pictures of her found illegally be a justifiable reason to get her punished.

Insignificant? How dare you.

Reinstate her now. What right had this child to access personal property without permission. Teachers could not do the same on students without being disciplined for it or taken to court.

I wish this teacher the best of luck and hope to see her back at what she truly loves to do, Teach!

Common sense.

It was her personal phone in a desk. The student should be facing consequences not the teacher!!!

The student should be punished for this, not the teacher. A big miscarriage of justice has happened.

An unfortunate incident. There are no winners here, only losers. Please reinstate Ms Arthur so that she can get back to teaching her students and everyone can get on with their lives.

Not only is this a huge injustice, but taking absolutely no action to punish the student who is actually the guilty party in this scenario is giving the student the wrong impression, that it's okay to share someone's private information.

This is ridiculous. I hope that another school in the area is quick to employ her. Or Maybe the students should organise a walk out and be led by the boy who stole her phone in the first place, wearing a shirt that says 'I was in the wrong, I'm sorry'

They had no right to tell her to resign or be fired. This was invasion of her privacy. It is absolutely ridiculous that she lost her job over a student doing something so malicious to her. I would be furious at the student as well as the school. They should be offering her job back with an apology.

I understand that this kid is your friend, but I sincerely hope he gets the punishment he deserves for ruining an apparently wonderful teacher's reputation and career.

To lose your job over someone else's criminality is outrageous

The school acts like she should be locked in the classroom 24/7. These are not 5 year olds, they are 16-17.. The authorities should be ashamed for blaming her bc she left her classroom. That does not give someone a right!!

An invasion of privacy like this is not acceptable.

Really? The kid violated her privacy. This country is really becoming a laughing stock. Great work Mom and Dad!
