This wrong to punish her for a student stealing her private phone and sending her private information to others. Why is the student not being punished?

Disgusting form from the school administration. Holding a teacher responsible for private material that was on a stolen device is illogical and ultimately shameful.

This is ridiculous, give the teacher her job back, and a raise for being so forgiving towards the student.

This teacher was fired for leaving her phone unlocked...maybe she was thinking more about teaching! And she gets fired for a students absolute disrespect for a superior?!? And he's rewarded? Wow! Really great leadership here who are teaching great ethics to their students. Bring her back, expell the student...shame on him.

This is just plain wrong. The student is 16 years old and sure as heck knows the difference from right and wrong. That's her private phone and a complete invasion of privacy. If he had done this to a fellow classmate, you know that he would be in serious trouble. The comments by the superintendent are baffling to me, how completely disrespectful as well.

At what point is it ok to look at private info on a teachers phone. The student should be expelled. Reinstate the teacher.

The teacher is not in the wrong, the student was in the wrong the moment he picked up the phone.

The way this was handled only serves to show how much of a joke our school system has become

This is ridiculous. Firing her job after she is victimized and embarrassed is deplorable.

What a disgraceful move by the student(s) in question and by the administration to remove the teacher. It isn't any of their business what's on her phone as long as it isn't illegal. I hope this petition will show those responsible the wrongfulness of their actions.
