The pupil should be done for theft, he stole an item from her own personnel phone irrelevant if it was unlocked. She has done nothing wrong & should be fully reinstated with the backing of the school council.

She was my daughter 6th grade teacher she would do anything for her students. It's a shame he did this to her. He needs to be punished to the fullest.

I fully support this teacher who has not done anything wrong. The world has gone completely crazy and common sense is rarely applied anywhere these days - and most certainly not in this case.

Unless the administrative staff at the school leave their phones at home, they run the same risk of having a student or fellow co-worker invade their privacy. Phone passwords can be worked around, so regardless of whether or not it was unlocked, Arthur's phone could have been accessed (the same way that everyone's phone COULD be) The fact that there were indecent photos is inconsequential, because it was her PERSONAL information. It is tragic that her privacy has been invaded, but it is UNACCEPTABLE that she would lose her job because of it. Victim blaming is just shameful. The last time I checked, adults are allowed to have personal lives outside of their academic duties, and NEWS FLASH; adults that are in any form of domestic partnership engage in sexual behavior. So unless administration would like to be fired over having relationships with their partners, perhaps they should grow up and realize that it is 2016, and adults take sexually illicit photos too. The real problem is that her privacy was invaded, and her employer has done nothing to protect her. Sincerely, University employee, Portland Oregon.

The moment that student picked up her phone, he was in the wrong. She should get her job back and that student should be disciplined.
