The student in this instance is guilty of 'unauthorized access' to Ms. Arthur's phone. Whether it was in plain sight or not, he did not have permission to access ANY information on her personal phone/computer. He is guilty and should be arrested for that and cyber-bullying. She should be reinstated and compensated for any undue anguish.

He's 16? Old enough to drive, old enough to take responsibility. I'm in my mid-twenties and I think today's society is babying the new generation too much. Yeah, we all make stupid mistakes, but at that age you're smart enough to know right from wrong. Stop making excuses

I am so sick of terrible behavior, like what this teen did, be ignored. The teacher deserves her job back, the teen needs severly disciplined, and the idiot who fired the teacher needs fired.

How unbelievably unfair to force this teacher to resign! She sent a photo to her husband like many adults do. She has been through enough embarrassment by having the photo leaked but now to lose her career on top of that is disgusting. The Superintendent should be ashamed of himself.

It was her private information! The student who stole her phone & sent the pictures out to other students should be punished and suspended! Obviously his parents have no morals or values either. She needs to bring a lawsuit against the school district, she did nothing wrong!!!

The student violated that teacher's privacy in a sick, sexual way. Then he crowed that he would make her pay. The kid is a criminal whose crimes will only escalate if he is not punished! I think 16 is old enough to be prosecuted for sexual extortion. Put that horrible little jerk in prison!

A high school student is old enough to know right from wrong. Why aren't people held accountable for their actions anymore? Not enough words for the sympathy I have for this teacher for not only losing her job but the humiliation of people seeing her private pictures. So much of this generation needs to be taught respect and privacy. Believe it or not, not everything is meant to be shared!
