This teacher has been blamed for the reprehensible actions of a teenager. Why? I ask the school principle to re-think the 'sacking' of the teacher. It smacks of misogyny.

Pure madness, theft is theft even of a digital image. The teacher is this case wasn't hurting anyone and for all intents and purposes the image was in her private possession.

Expel the boy and then the teacher needs to sue the ridiculous board of management for compensation for putting her through this.

This is a sad situation but the teacher does not deserve to be fired. The school administrator needs to be replaced, though.

This petition has now reached people internationally, and I for one cannot believe that in the country that is the so called leader of the free world does not have systems in place to ensure locally made poor decisions are not inappropriate. As an employer the school has failed to act appropriately and I would hope that they take the time to reconsider, put right the consequences of their poor decision and learn from it.

Blatant disregard for a persons privacy. Why hasn't the student been disciplined but the teacher (through no fault of her own) has.

Absolutely despicable behavior by the school board. David Eubanks should be let go immediately.

She should be reinstated. The student needs punishing! Naming and shaming would be a start! Regardless of the content on the phone and the fact it was unlocked, that's not an invitation for anyone to go through it!

Have some common sense and credit this young lady with her teaching abilities not her personal life, which has been wrongfully manipulated.

Can't believe she was fired. The child made the mistake, as we all do, not her. She is allowed to have a life outside of school. And so what if her phone is not locked doesn't give someone the right to enter her private space. If you left you window unlocked and someone came in to steal it harm the homeowner wouldn't be punished further by the court. Utter stupidity

Damn disgraceful it's the lady's personal property. This is just another form of control by control freaks. Give the lady back her job the BOY should not have touched the phone in the first place.

that child is distributing indecent images to other children, an adult would be arrested in uk. corrupting young minds, he has violated someones privacy in a most humiliating manner, & no action. Pffft the teacher deserves more respect from her management team! She was violated, yes unwise not to have a lock on a phone but hardly sackable offence. I think governing board at the school should be looking at how school is run
Student should be thrown out of school!
