Once again teachers suffer for the actions of pupils. The authorities concerned need to deal with the student. He should have known it was wrong and not even thought of doing it. Compketet lack of respect for an individual's privacy.

The shows the common sense is becoming more and more uncommon. She was held accountable because someone (minor or not.) stole her phone and leaked private photos out. The fact that we are holding her accountable and not the teen is absolutely ludicrous

So, in the land of the free, you're allowed to steal,& the victim of the theft pays the price? Get real! This teacher HAS to be reinstated.ASAP.

At 16 the student should know that what he has done is wrong. He has deliberately stolen images which were not his. The teacher has done nothing wrong. Since when is it a crime to leave your phone unattended. Show the world that even in the US sense can prevail.

This teacher would not expect her students to access her phones gallery, it is in violation of her privacy, the student concerned should be expelled from the school and made to apologise publicly.

Ridiculous decision, to me the point of the phone should have been locked shouldn't even an issue (sure it was a mistake made by the teacher but still).
1. The student (without consent) used said phone and STOLE a picture of said teacher.
2. What was he doing at her desk anyway?
3. and what is happening re: the Student btw?
So much for solidarity towards your fellow staff member. Is said teacher part of a union? Can they not get involved? (I'm from the UK btw, hence why I asked).
End of the day its the students who are also being punished, as it seems to me they are passionate about this teacher, and in this day & age it would appear that good teachers are hard to find. If this was me, I'd be seriously pissed by the lack of support from the school & my fellow colleague regarding this issue, and I'm fairly confident (due to the publicity this has now gained) it won't be long before some other School snaps her up... Shame of it is it'll be her students (once again) who are made to suffer also.
Shame on you Mr. Eubanks... Shame on you...

This is ridiculous a teacher has had to resign because of the stupidity of a student.
At the end of the day IDS not the teachers fault obviously there must be an element of trust for her to leave her phone on her desk.
The student should be prosecuted for theft too as that's how I see ot
