Invasion of privacy and theft, this is no different then if he'd stolen out of her handbag.

The school system should learn to support their teachers when they are, in fact, the victim. I predict Superintendent David Eubanks and others involved will have their careers shortened, as well.

Mrs Arthur should not be punished when she was victim of bullying by this student.

Since when is a teacher being robbed of her personal Property, her fault. The kid should be charged not the teacher. This is what's wrong with society now.

Hi I'm 22 years old, I was excluded from 5 schools for my bad behaviour. I don't regret any of my past because i believe it's made me into a better person, if I wasn't disciplined for my actions, I would of been either sent to prison or dead, I would of felt untouchable. For the student to get away with this, he will only get worse and from it seems he doesn't seem to have any limits and to go through anybody phone is really wrong, but to also steal confidential information is actually a criminal offence. The teacher is only human like everyone else out there. who doesn't have private information on there phone because I certainly do. For the teacher to lose her job and have to go on national tv for the world to see must be embarrinsing knowing her and the family have to go through this trauma. I think the boy should be disappointed in himself knowing he's not only affected the teacher but the whole school with them losing out on a good teacher. I think he should be disciplined.

I believe that this was an invasion of her privacy and a deliberate attack on others view of her. The kid attacked her reputation by doing this when she did not allow it.

I thought this was the sort of thing people only get away with in the U K . This young man should be held accountable. ....how else will he learn a lesson .

Appalling. Even she volunteered resignation, it should been refused. If she was pushed, the school should be ashamed. The way this has been handled is disgusting. Reinstate now!

This is blatent victim blaming. Mrs. Arthur is a victim of crime and for her to be blamed instead of the student is insane. An unlocked phone is not an invitition to have your privacy violated.

She shouldn't have left her phone there, but he should have respected his teacher. If she had shown him the picture, then that would be a different story but in this case she just made a mistake, which we as humans do. The principal should get his head out of his arse and show some compassion.
