Was it dumb to leave her phone accecible? sure. Was it dumb for the kid to do what he did? Sure. Is it so bad that peoples lives should be ruined over it? No way. If she is a good teacher with no other disciplinary actions against her then this should not be held against her. Same with the boy. I could understand though if she didn't want to go back, it might be rather embarrasing but she should be offered a position within the system maybe at a different school. As for the interim superintendent, he's just trying to cover his butt. Man up and do whats right Mr. Eubanks

For this to be brought to my attention as a young man living on the island of Ireland shows how ridiculous it is that any blame or charges could be brought against this woman! Support the innocent and bring full charges against the delinquent. What kind of example would the school be setting if the immature child was to go unpunished for his actions? Is it not the school's job to educate the youths who attend? Lessons are learnt in class as well as through idiot mistakes. Make this kid learn from his, or suffer the consequences of the effect this will have on the rest of his life!

This is an invasion of privacy. An example would be a 16 year old jumps into a car and drives off in it while the owner had the car running but was not in it. Is that legal? No. Neither is the invasion into her phone. Locked or unlocked the student was in the wrong.

Don't waste a great career... Fight this all the way - you won't regret it... Good luck...

We need to evolve beyond blaming the victim. Compensate the teacher and make the student responsible. If this student had been black, how would you have handled this differently? This student is a sexual bully. He distributed partially nude photos to minors. Ending ignorance begins at school-- with the adminitrators.

Absolutely horrendous that the teacher is being punished for a students illegal activities. Teachers are routinely singled out and treated poorly and it needs to stop.

Mr David Eubanks should be disciplined for his actions, he took the device of his own free will, and took private pictures of Mrs Arthur's property. Shame on the yound man.

The 16 yr old student who violated Mrs. Arthur's privacy and cost her her job should be expelled. In my "perfect world fantasy" Mr. Arthur would confront this offensive student and vigorously chastise him.

Unfair for her to lose her job.

Superintendent Eubanks is being "insignificant". While Arthur was somewhat careless, she did nothing to justify dismissal or the request to resign.

Punishing a victim of sexual harrassment is an embarrassing error in judgement and a grave injustice. Superintendent Eubanks, it does not feel good to maintain your prejudices. It is needless and humiliating to stay on the wrong side of history. Please consider the example you are setting for the students.

The offending student should be punished and the interim label should be removed from the superintendent's title and replaced by "former".
