As supports of educators, we fully support Ms. Author. There are times every teacher has to leave their room for one reason or another. When are students going to be held responsible for their actions and the blame not be put on the teacher. Good behavior of the students starts at home. Because of this student, her reputation has been severely harmed.

What happened to the student that caused the situation

Did the teacher make a mistake? Maybe. But what the student did was both morally and legally wrong.
What kind of message is this sending to the students? My guess is that the superintendent is somehow linked to this students family. Why else would he make such a flagrantly ignorant decision?

I live way in Michigan and I can feel for this teacher it would be embarrassing For anyone to access any kind of personal info especially something so private as this I could only imagine how violated she must feel and the school should have totally had her back and they have failed her and its a real shame that she is being treated in this way thats why when I seen the story on GMA I ran straight to sign this and I really wish the best for her and I hope she can over come this

This teacher deserves her job back after hearing her story on GMA why is she being punished she did nothing wrong that was her personal phone and the teenage boy should have known better. Hopefully his parents are explaining the consequences of his actions to him. He is the Pervert, why treat the teacher like she did wrong.

I think it's awful she has to go through this weather she left the phone on her desk or night the school has no right to ask her to resign and the student should go to jail

This is blatant victim blaming. Mr. Eubanks is a disgrace to the school system particularly and to humanity in general.

This is unfair, that boy should be tried as a criminal and the teacher should be given her job back. Mr Eubanks should also be FIRED from his job for lying and twisting words, something a school district SUPERINTENDENT should NOT be doing.

This teacher did nothing wrong, and this situation reflects extremely poorly on the school administration. This story has travelled far and wide, making the news across the world, including in Melbourne, Australia. I'm not alone in hoping to hear a suitable followup story, which includes a complete and unreserved apology from the school.

When will people stop blaming the victim? She is to blame because she let students use her phone in activities before? She is at fault for leaving it out? This harmed HER the most. Why should she be dismissed for assuming her students would respect her?
