It's ridiculous that a husband and wife can't have private items between them without being violated by a thief! That was her personal on her desk. That kid should be expelled and charged with theft!

I can't believe this happened. Is that not a crime for a student to steal photos?

I believe Author was disrespected as a teacher and authoritative figure. She deserves a fair chance to have her job back to help to those individuals learn what they need to know to succeed in life. Today's "children' are taking things to far and schools should prevent it daily!!!!

Good teachers are hard to find. From all accounts, Mrs. Arthur was just that. This wasn't a malicious act - give her back her job.

IMO, the student should be expelled, but that would mean fewer dollars for the school. We cannot have that, can we? People who get caught always express remorse. He needs to be charged, convicted, and do time.

The students involved should, at the very least be suspended. The man who fired your teacher should resign.

She should get her job back. Probation was a strict enough reprimand for the offense of leaving her phone out and accessible to students.

As an adult she had every right to do what she wished in her private life but this boy did 2 things very wrong: 1. Stealing and 2. "selling off" stolen stuff. Using her phone if she allowed is ok but stilling stuff and blackmail is NOT! This boy needs to be re educated. What kind of adult will he be since he does not know right from wrong at 16 years old!

I'm really disappointed that David Eubanks is missing the point here and setting such an appalling example. As the incidence of 'sexting' and revenge porn is rapidly growing, with impacts on an ever-younger population, inappropriate sharing of sexual images is a real concern for young people. There is of course something to learn here from the teacher's perspective, but certainly not worth losing a job over. This unfortunate event is something David Eubanks should be sending a clear message about - ensuring young men and women are aware of the important ramifications of taking and sharing sensitive information/ photographs. I hope this important message is realized, rather than miss-focusing on whether or not a teacher allowed students to use their phone.

This is totally the student's fault. Yet, there still hasn't been any repercussions for the student. The student needs to be punished and the teacher reinstated.

How about some common sense Mr. Superintendent, firing good teachers who care over a "Nude" photo WTF. When are we all going to grow up and act like adults. Its not like these were 8 year old, they see worse on TV everyday and the internet. Give the young lady her job back...

Shame on the school board and the superintendent for blaming the victim! Do the right thing and reinstate her immediately. And sincerely apologize for re-victimizing her.

As a former teacher I find the firing of Mrs. Arthur unjust! The student who took the picture should understand the severe consequences of his actions. I would like to see her reinstated and any record of this cleared from her file.
