She is a victim of a crime. Possibly a sex crime.

The teacher was supervising in the hallway between classes, which I have to do as well. My desk does not lock, and my phone and purse are in my desk. This student had to open Arthur's apps in order to even get to the picture. And so what if students had routinely been given permission to use her phone (although this is not a good idea)? It was permission granted, so it was not an intrusion into her privacy in those cases. Eubanks is a complete and total ass! This teacher has been in this district for ten years, while Eubanks is an "interim superintendent." Ideally, I think every school district in the U.S. that is looking for a teacher with Arthur's qualifications should offer this lady a job!

This is insane. You idiots (school) are teaching a young man to have zero accountability for his own actions and blaming the victim. Give the woman her job back. That 16 year old knew exactly what he was doing. He knew it was wrong, and thanks to crap like this he knew he could get away with it. Do our youth a favor and change that. Protect your staff and punish the student!

She should get her job back. This is ridiculous to punish her for a students blatant disregard for privacy.

Insane! Charge the student with theft as well as distribution of pornagraphic material to minors. Charge him as an adult as well.

So wrong

Superintendent Eubanks has the chance to show that not all administrators are out of touch. She was not watching her classroom but was doing other job-related tasks at the time - she can't be everywhere at once!

If she has the support of so many students that know her, then she has mine as well.

This is ashamed that the director took the student side even knowing the he's a thief,..so with that decision he's getting all the other students the right to steal from the other teachers. This is going to be up scale.

This is disgraceful, this poor teacher (a profession i have the utmost respect for) has beeen treated most unfairly and the student involved in this is being let off

I see a beautiful, mature, responsible young lady who is dedicated to her job and students, as well as her husband/personal life. I would offer this Ms. Arthur a job in ANY company and ANY position of which she may be qualified by her skills. Ms. Arthur has attempted to handle this volatile situation as civil and quietly as possible, with as little disruption to school routine as possible. She has sacrificed herself for the greater good.

Students should be held responsible for their actions, as should adults

If anyone actually thinks that this teacher was in the wrong, YOU are what is wrong with society.

What a teacher does legally in her own time is NONE of your business. What a student does during the school day: going into the desk of a teacher and then harassing her publicly after stealing her property IS. The world is watching and we are ashamed of your blatantly biased decision.

Not an acceptable decision in light of no official policy.

Ridiculous. This is victim blaming and is 90% of our problem as a society! Shame on this president

She should get her job back, because if she doesn't then it will only make the school worse... Sure, they had good intentions but they should probably follow what the public wants if they want to keep a steady number of students.

I'm from England so the news of this has even reached over here. How stupid that this boy has gone unpunished with this theft. Give this woman her job back and remove the boy who stole her pictures.

If you don't want your pictures on the net, don't take them. If you leave your phone, lock it. Not doing so is stupid BUT stupidity is not a crime. However, invading an other persons privacy is. Punish the boy not the victim.
