It's time to end this pattern of allowing children to escape personal responsibility. A 16 year old does not need constant supervision and an adult with every right to a separate personal life should not be punished for hateful and disrespectful actions of a student

it is time to petition the school board to have Superintendent David Eubanks removed from office for failing to report a sexual assault to the police

You should be able to leave your mobile phone anywhere without fear of it or its contents being stolen. If the school can't see this, it is just as guilty as the student. They are punishing the victim. And yes, I'm from Gt Britain.

The student should definitely have been punished! He violated personal property and then slandered the teacher.

Blame the student not the teacher. I am 32 and a officer if the law

The student is at fault here not the teacher.

This petition shouldn't even be necessary, teachers have lives too and they deserve privacy outside of the classroom.

I'm in Canada. If I ever attempted this I would not only be expelled, but arrested and would have my butt grounded by my parents for life.

It was the student's fault. How can you blame a teacher because a student took her phone and sentido himself her private pictures. It's stupid how she lost her job because of a meddling brat.

the teacher has done nothing wrong.

Totally unfair. Teachers need support from the school just like students need support from their teacher. Act like a team and learn to play together.

Ok how about we take the Principals phone and other teachers phones and the superintendent's phone and look through em. Oh wait.. they're not comfortable with that? IT'S CALLED PRIVACY. And the "kids regularly used her phone" I would hope your smart enough to understand that you need to ask permission first beforehand every time unless YOU OWN IT.

The way this teacher is being treated is reprehensible. She was sexually bullied, bordering on sexual assault. Then to have the superintendent say in effect- 'she asked for it' adds insult to injury. If she was a classmate would this even be a question? I can't wait he does it again and everyone says, ' I don't know what happened he's never done anything like that before'. What a joke.

It is only in an ignorant society that a violation is met with punishment for the violated. Reinstate Ms Arthur.
