Blaming the victim of the crime??
The moron that fired the teacher deserves the same consideration if he is ever victimized.
Welcome to the New World Order!

Children should be respectful of personal property. No one should have to put a password on their phone. No child should touch anything on a person's desk. Discipline the child and parents for not observing and teaching personal property privacy

What a joke. The only guilty on in this story is the child who stole the teachers phone. He should be expelled for doing this. Would a tea be punished if a kid stole a test from her desk and stole the answers? No, the kid gets in trouble. This is disgusting. Teachers are still allowed to have lives and be people. Give this teacher her job back!!!! And the teacher should be suing everyone possible for their wrongful doings.

Its the responsibility of the school system to teach the students a lesson that stealing someones personal items and distributing personal information is illegal and morally wrong. This teach is being wrongfully punished.

Ridiculous!! This woman did NOTHING wrong! The school and or county that forced her to resign should be ashamed of themselves! No wonder good people that want to work in this country are beginning to hate our legal system - it does nothing but screw people over! The innocent get screwed and the guilty get a slap on the wrist. This woman should be teaching and the child should be sent to another school along with the charges he's incurred. Again-- shame on you Union County! I hope and pray she can begin teaching again and anyone that opposes that should have unpaid leave for remaining school year.

This lady has been violated. And she is not responsible for the inappropriate, cruel, and crude act of this bully of a student. The role has been extended to the this poor teacher and the focus should be on this kid, not her. He is a rotten apple and should not be protected and culpability should not be placed on her...that's ridiculous! How would this be viewed differently if he had opened her purse and saw the same pics as printed photos? ...it would be on him...well, it should be. He accessed without permission, her PERSONAL cell phone. It's private property, just like her purse. I hope this is corrected.

I hope she wins the law suit against the school! She did nothing wrong. Teachers leave the room all the time, it was like the student went thru her purse, which is wrong too!

Mrs. Arthur should get her job back with full restitution for a time she has been off. It's a shame that in this country the teacher gets blamed for what the student did. Maybe she was negligent and leaving her phone on her desk, but how many times do we leave our phones when were in a hurry or involved in something that distracts us. I have left my phone in a restaurant and had to go back and retrieve it. Student should be made more accountable for their actions. Our teachers today are under a lot of pressure with overcrowded classrooms, hall monitor duty, cafeteria duty, and any number of other things besides teaching the class . I am truly upset at how this teacher is being treated. Shame on that school district's superintendent for taking this stance. My prayers are with Lee a.m superintendent for taking this stance. My prayers are with Leigh Anne and her family.

The student should be disciplined. No one has the right to go through your phone without your permission. Total lack of respect for a person and the persons property. It's no different than going through a purse or wallet.
