It was her private, personal phone. That student accessed her phone without authorization which is an invasion of privacy! She should actually sue the school for wrongful termination and the students parents for defamation of character!

This is disgusting misogyny, stop retraumatizing this teacher for being a victim of sexual harassment and assault. Your job is education, educate this student.

This is a ridiculous injustice! Way to promote rape culture. Blaming the female for the male's poor decision making and criminal behavior is shameful.

The student should be punished for touching property that wasn't his. The teacher should not have been forced to resign.

Nice lesson to teach the students. Do you wonder why they felt they could do something like this? Because of the way it's being handled. You should be ashamed at least and sued at worst.

This is outrageous! Way to send a message to kids that they can act act and do as they will with impunity and victims get punished!! Terrible call!!!

Ms. Arthur deserves her job back...enough with the senseless decision by District Superintendent David Eubanks. David Eubanks and anyone else that played a part in this irrational decision to force Ms. Arthur to resign should be removed from their position.

It's an outrage that a school won't protect an educator in the same way they would protect a student. This poor teacher has had her privacy exploited by a student during school time and she should be supported. Outraged from the UK

What happened wasn't of her own volition, so I don't see why she has to lose her job over it, she already has suffered some shame from being exposed.

This is crazy that the victim gets punished and the perpetrator gets no expulsion or criminal punishment.

Glad that the student realises they have behaved inappropriately but so disappointed in the school for failing to show any respect for a teacher that has served them for so long. This is human error and I'm not sure what message it sends to the students by taking a zero tolerance approach to mistakes. Also be interesting to know whether they will apply the same standards to themselves when they make mistakes.
