Is the super intendant daft? Stupid? Careless? Jealous? HE SHOULD BE THE ONE FORCED TO RESIGN. THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR YOUTH. THEIR VOICE GOES UNHEARD.

Offering my support, from Canada. Seems to me both parties made errors in judgement, although the student's certainly was malicious!

This is absolutely ridiculous. That student knew that what he was doing was wrong and in my eyes theft. How dare them blame the teacher for doing anything wrong. She took photos in her own personal phone not a phone provided by the school. She had every right to take any kind of photos she chooses. He should most definitely be punished.

I Sam writing from Oregon and like to ask to reconsider the decision made regarding Mrs Arthur. To dismiss the petition as insignificant is not alone arrogant, but did not serve the students or fellow teachers.

I am a teacher in the UK and, like my colleagues, I take reasonable steps to keep my mobile phone safe and secure. But what if I was momentarily distracted and left my phone somewhere it could be found? Or if a student entered a 'staff only' area and helped themselves to what they can find? My pictures may not be exciting to look at but they are *personal* and I would hope my employer would support me in trying to keep them that way, not fire me from my job! Shame on you, Mr Eubanks...

That student had no business even touching her personal property. I am afraid of what our country is becoming. Please reprimand the student and rehire the teacher!

This is a gross violation of Mrs. Arthur's privacy. The fact that the school terminated her because of something she privately possessed that was STOLEN, by a student no less, is small minded and disgusting.

Dr. Eubanks has said that it's Mrs. Authurs fault for leaving her cell phone out on her desk unattended. I am pretty sure she is not the only one that works there that has been guilty of the same thing. It's not her fault that the student made a bad judgment to take her phone and did what he did. The sad thing about it is nothing has been done to them, they're still in school. But I guarantee you if it was Dr. Eubanks phone or someones else important they would have been arrested and expelled the same day. Plus they wouldn't have been fired like Mrs. Authurs, I hope she haves them arrested n see they are expelled from school and sues the Union County School Board to get her job back. We pray for Jesus to be with everyone involved n to up lift them all Amen.

As a teacher we have duty stations that we must be at or we will get written up. It is not her fault a student decided to get her phone without permission. These kids need to be punished. She should not have lost her job. The district is full of crap. I highly doubt a teacher would allow their students to use her cell phone, maybe the school phone. Districts always want to find some reason to blame the teachers. Blame the student for doing wrong!!

The little creep did what he did with malicious intent. While the teacher should have had her phone locked (up), her phone should have been left alone in the first place. She had no intention of showing or sharing her pics with anyone other than her husband and was under the assumption that her pictures were safe. She is purely a victim here.

I am from Atlanta, and I have read the reports about this. I dislike what the superintendent has done. The student who started this scandal needs to be expelled, and that's that. I don't know what Mrs. Arthur did to provoke such actions from the student, but whatever the reason, did not deserve to met with revenge. There was a sexual harassment scandal that erupted at my high school during my brother's first year there. A teacher everyone liked was sent to prison, and the principal was fired. Everyone knew the student did it with malicious intent. So I'm signing this, so that this teacher gets the justice she deserves once and for all.

Poor woman! She did nothing wrong. That little smart arse deliberately went through her personal items in her private desk draw, stole her phone. Horrible little turd has clearly never been smacked in his life, now would be a good time for a beating!

This was an invasion of privacy and the student should be punished, not the teacher who is the victim.
