Reinstate Mrs Arthur. She has done nothing wrong and is the victim of a childish student. Her privacy has been compromised and dismissing her would be a travesty. We desperately need good teachers like Mrs Arthur and her dismissal will only harm her students and their ability to continue receiving good education.

Teenagers are almost adults and should know better than this. Had this boy acceptable or set him on a dangerous path of disrespecting women. I hate to see where he ends up in life with this mentality.

Firing this teacher is an outrage. I am offended and DISTURBED to the point of feeling my blood boil over this. This is her PERSONAL PROPERTY. She has every right to an expectation of privacy. These students violated her privacy, and her superintendent should have had her back. Shameful. Disgraceful. Reinstate her with humble apologies.

Dear Mr. Eubanks,
I'd love to wake up someday in a world where we don't teach our children that an invasion of one's privacy is the victim's fault. As a father of an eight-year-old kid, I find it exceptionally hard to describe your attitude without resorting to profanity. I sincerely hope that my son will never be taught by people who think that a sixteen-year-old person is not mature enough to be fully responsible for such a blatant offense, and other people must be blamed for his mistakes. You, Mr. Eubanks, are the irresponsible person in this situation. If it was up to me, you wouldn't be allowed anywhere near any educational institution.
(Oh, and congratulations, you have reached international audience. Greetings from Krakow, Poland. Try calling this "insignificant".)

Poor kids are getting an education in how sexism and sex negativity are alive and well... for certain, old, backwards, individuals. Bravo?

She should not be fired for this. She did nothing wrong and was in fact the victim!

The lack of administrative support for this teacher is appalling. Mrs. Arthur should be reinstated with an apology from the Superintendent and the student should be expelled.

How is this justice?? If a teacher left a vehicle unlocked and a kid went into and found pictures, should the teacher be punished then? Ridiculous!!!
May Mrs. Arthur prevail in a lawsuit against the school board

I hope the best comes for Mrs. Leigh Ann Arthur and that justice will be served. Hopefully signing this petition will be helpful. I wish her the best :)

It is wrong for this teacher to lose her livelihood over the illegal actions of a minor. Reinstate her, she has already been irreparably damaged. Don't make it worse.

The student should be made aware that they could be charged.with distribution of porn to minors, 1 count for each kid on the list, forced to register as a sex offender FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES, depending on their age, Prison, lawsuits against them.....

This is a case of pupil bullying teacher. 16 is old enough to make sound decisions, and this was a very hurtful act designed to embarrass the teacher.

Mr. Eubanks leaves a lot to be desired as a superintendent. He is more or less condoning what that 16 yr. old did. What ever happened to "respecting others"? This teacher should not lose her job because of what that 16 yr. old chose to do. Seems to me that Mr. Eubanks is one of those male chauvinist pigs.....he needs to lose his job!!!

The student who illegally stole these photos, private property, should face charges--not the teacher.

Is it any wonder we have such a shortage of good teachers these days? This is the kind of "blame the teacher" for often unseeable consequences to NORMAL activities that causes so many young teachers to quit and go into other careers. I can't imagine firing someone in my employee for a simple mistake... and in this case, it's hard to even justify that the teacher even MADE a mistake! Did the school have a clear policy in terms of personal phones being locked and out of reach of kids at all times? If not, then they are the ones to blame.
