What kind of group punishes the victim? What kind of sick, perverse message does it send that a nude picture being stolen and circulated requires firing the victim? This situation can be used to teach privacy and boundaries, it should not serve as fuel for a fanatical knee jerk reaction. People have naked bodies under their clothes, grow up. The teacher should be allowed to keep working, she should have her job offered back to her. What is this? A medieval witch hunt?

This school admin has enabled rape culture and has just proven to this student that if they choose to engage in rape culture behaviour they will be supported. End rape culture now. This was a sex crime and should be treated as such.

I would not blame Mrs. Arther for not returning to her position given the unforgiving attitude Mr. Eubanks has shown. Too bad it did not happen to him instead. I think he would be singing a different tune were it he whose picture was being distributed.

It's a sad day when victim blaming is the norm and that an adult woman, in a teaching position that would normally inspire respect, is discredited by her school board who should instead be coming to her defense and victimized by one of her students. I'm very proud of all the students who are involved in this petition to support Mrs. Arthur and that are setting a proper example to correct their superiors, when it should be the other way around.

Give the lady back her job and that student needs to be disciplined and removed from her class. Teachers are the base of our humanity. Without them where would our children wind up?

Teacher deserves respect and privacy. The student at fault for violating this privacy should be held accountable. At 16, this student should know better. As for the photos, they are private property and should not be seen by anyone other than the teacher and whomever she chooses to share them with

She did nothing wrong, the student should be held accountable for taking her private property and violating her trues. Electronic crimes act should come into play here.

She deserves her job back or at least the option to have it back. She did no wrong in this and she's a trooper for being positive about it.

I think it's sad that the superintendent did not support his employee. The teacher is clearly the victim in this case and to say any other wise is sad.

Hire her back, the student had no right to go through her phone.

The actions of the school are misguided. This poor teacher has had her privacy violated. Whether her phone was locked or not is of no consequence. Is she to lock up her desk, her handbag etc etc ? Surely she must be allowed the MISTAKE of trusting her class! This boy's actions were vindictive, and a shameful breach of trust. Here in the UK, I think it would be considered an offence under the law to take private photos from someone's phone, and to share these photos publicly, in order to cause distress. And no matter how repentant this boy "says" he is now, his original motives were not only vindictive and cruel, but, to some extent, planned! The teacher must be reinstated, and offered an apology not only by this errant boy, but also by the school. The treatment of this poor woman by the school is a disgrace!

David Eubanks should be investigated as to his handling of this matter and not doing any disciplinary actions against the student right away. If what this petition is saying is true, then he is making false statements against the teacher to discredit her. That would make him morally unfit to be in that position over teachers and students.

That sounds like, in a TV show, a person killed another and the one watching TV got arrested !!!. What is this. Moral and Discipline are missing in that student. His character is bad. So shall we say the school is responsible for not moulding him in good manner?. Mrs. Arthur is innocent. If she was forced to quit, then the school management is responsible for the behaviour of that student. who in that management gonna quit?. They failed to teach moral to the students. Forgiving student shows maturity and kind heart of Mrs. Arthur. But firing her out shows bad school management. Funny reason that she did not lock her phone. If a phone is not mine, then i should not touch it. Thats moral. thats discipline and that should be a lesson to students. Thats like, you did not lock the car, so ur car is stolen. What is this, is this a school or what?. Teach Discipline, Teach moral, Save innocents. The world in future needs good persons with good character. They are created in a place called School. Persons like Mrs. Arthur helps to shape up the country and the world. Hope she will be taken back for work.
