Shame on you for firing Lt. Col Michael Hunter for trying to hold a student accountable for breaking school rules. The Assistant Principal should have been fired. What a disgrace.

I can’t believe they would do this over something stupid they fired someone who was apart of something they loved and enjoyed... the kids in ROTC looked up to him not as a role model but as a father figure too for what he was fired for was ridiculous

This Marine has served the community of Salem High School with the highest standards and ethos that other should inspire to live their lives. We as a community needs to show support to this educator and have him reenstated at the ROTC program. We need his leadership with our youth.

I don't even know were to start, talking about Mike! A true leader, a person who cares deeply for his community who makes a difference. Nobody is perfect and we all make honest mistakes. Having Mike Hunter there to understand and help guide young and older adults creates a role model for schools and the public.

I've personally met Lt. Col Hunter on many occasions and he's not only amazing person, but he's also a leader of tomorrow's generation. Our children need to take responsibility for poor behaviors and others should accept it. He's instilled positive reinforcement. Lt. Col Hunter has done an amazing done job with the cadets and if instilling respect, honor and dignity to the children, than he is not is problem.

I personally know Lt. Col Hunter. As a member of the Honorable Few Marine Corps League of Peabody Ma. Lt Col Hunter is a person of the very highest caliper. The Cadets love him. He has done an exemplary job there with them. IF there are rules in place as to what is and is not allowed they Principle should enforce them. This is just wrong. You can trust Lt Col Hunter with your LIFE. Sadly the Principal cannot be trusted with your children.

This is absolutely ridiculous , not only is Lt Col Hunter an American hero , but he is an outstanding human being. This Marine not only has made a difference with his leadership serving with his fellow Marines, but he continues to make a difference with the young men and women in our community. In todays over sensitive society everything anyone does is put under a microscope and magnified to the point where nobody has the authority to instill any sort of right or wrong . Whether a teacher , a police officer , or even a parent , tries to set any type of rules or guidelines, our hyper sensitive society feels the need to step in and judge any person of authority , who for the most part are just trying to guide and shape the youth of today , just as we were guided when we were growing up. Lt. Col Hunter needs to be reinstated because he is a leader and is only trying to help mold and guide every young individual he comes in contact with.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Lt. Col. Michael Hunter for over 45 years and will attest in the highest of courts of necessary of his strength of character as it relates to leading by example through hard work and the strongest of values to teach others of the importance of living their lives following impeccable standards of honoarable honesty and unconditional respect for others. I know he is an asset to all of us as a leader and especially to the youth that learn from his loyal and unwavering honest guidance.

Leaders in our schools have one principal responsibility: Prepare our youth for success in life. Reinforcing antagonistic, foul and disrespectful behavior is not the way to do that. Bring back one man that is prepared to show our young people the right way.
