The weekend show will not be the same without Kelly. Not liking this, WJAR.

Kelly, I have watched you from your very early days on WJAR. I have always appreciated your professionalism, the accuracy in your forecasts, your vibrancy, and the natural connection you had with your viewers. I really hope you come back because WJAR will lose my family of viewers, otherwise. Thank you for all that you have done for us over the years but I truly hope this is not the end of your meteorologist days on local RI TV.

Kelly Bates is amazing smart beautiful and funny. She will rise above this and Channel 10 will be the ones that lose. It’s a shame that in this day and age we still have corporations shaming based solely on size and age.

Despicable. I’m done with Sinclair Broadcasting. You owe her (and her fans) a very public apology.

Kelly has been a well liked, trusted, and competent meteorologist on WJAR for almost 20 years. WHAR has always had the reputation for supporting their long time employees. I am thoroughly disgusted with this action to drop Kelly Bates.
