I was saddened to hear the news about Kelly Bates leaving WJAR. After 17 years it’s like losing an old friend. She was always professional, made a good appearance and had a nice personality. Younger isn’t always better. I switched to channel 12 weather when I didn’t see Kelly daily. I’ll stick with them now.

I am deeply disappointed to learn Kelly Bates is no longer with WJAR. Please reinstate her as soon as possible. I love the culture of kindness that is visible amongst the staff. This has marred the the image of the station and impacts the station’s ability to deliver news and build trust with its viewers.

Kelly Bates was the Best, Most Trusted, Dedicated, Congenial, Uplifting Meteorologist you employed. The public has Faith in her !!!
She Dedicated 17 years of her career to the station and millions of fans and it sounds like that doesn't count for Sinclair to show the same dedication.
It also appears that her age and appearance are factors in encouraging her to leave with a contract that she felt was "insulting" to her. She is a Beautiful Professional Meteorologist and Person INSIDE AND OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is a " Breath of Fresh Air". She is a "True, Honest, Person", which is more than I can say for Sinclair. Honesty, Kindness, and True Dedication to your company doesn't count anymore? Really?? Is this the way you conduct your business?
If my impressions are incorrect, please correct them and reinstate Kelly Bates ‼‼‼ Sinclair has made a BIG, BIG, BIG MISTAKE, by letting a Beautiful, Gifted Meteorologist to leave. I am sure the other employees now need to be concerned how they also can be encouraged to leave at the business methods of Sinclair.
I AM DEEPLY SADDENED AND ASK YOU TO OFFER KELLY BATES A FAIR OFFER. PLEASE DO NOT SAY IT WAS "HER" DECISION NOT TO SIGN THE CONTRACT. SHE HAS MORE CREDIBILITY (than Sinclair) TO CONTINUE TO WORK AT WJAR !!!
PLEASE MAKE THIS "RIGHT" !!!!
CORRECT THIS ACTION !!!!!! THIS DECISION WILL HURT SINCLAIR AND WJAR !!!!!
Sincerely,
Margaret Voit

Contract vs Ratings. Right vs Wrong. Wise vs Young. Honest vs Slimish. Trust vs Discord. Seriously news should be reported with all honesty and Integrity, with a dash of humor to get the public interested. Management Rights dishonest. Shame? Change the channel!

As soon as WJAR was taken over by Sinclair, it was not the local news station anymore. This corporation does not care about people--it cares about image and money. Kelly Bates does not reflect the Fox News like image of their trophy wife personalities.

Kelly Bates always has a beautiful smile to brighten your day even if the forecast is rain. Always loved seeing her and hearing her cheery voice. I met her one day 2 years ago and she is a lovely person as I knew she would be. Bring back Kelly
