Totally agree with others regarding the firing of Kelly Bates! I have been a faithful. WJAR watcher for my entire life-6 decades. This is a travesty!! Kelly is a true professional, supportive to her " so called" colleagues, fans and Rhode Island in general. Shame on you Channel 10.

It just goes to show after all these years of us woman fighting for equal pay we are still fighting an uphill Battle ! How can someone receive an award and be treated like that! Don’t you Value your company ? I enjoyed watching Kelly she is so humble and kind you can see it on the screen ❤️channel 10 you should be ashamed of yourselves not valuing someone as good as her!

In a time where “woke” media is screeching from the rooftops about “inclusivity” and “every girl deserves to see a rolemodel on TV who looks like her”, the owners of WJAR have proven that they are total hypocrites at heart, and that they really truly believe that a woman’s only worth is not in how well she does her job, but only in her youth and waist size. They ultimately do not care that they enthusiastically promote unrealistic ideals that drive young girls to a lifetime of low self-esteem and anorexia and bulimia in pursuit of an unattainable goal to be accepted and valued that 98% of the population are genetically unable to achieve. Kelly Bates was the heart of the Weather Team at WJAR 10. I will no longer be “turning to 10” as the station management does not reflect any of the values I believe in.
