I cannot believe WJAR has done it again: fired a very popular and competent meteorologist, Kelly Bates. The first one was Gary Ley and to be honest, I didn't watch WJAR news for several years after that. Kelly Bates was a sweetheart and did NOT deserve to be fired. If not rectified, it'll be another several years before I watch WJAR news again. Too bad because I enjoy watching the nightly news and especially the weekend broadcasts. Good luck Kelly. You will be missed.

She included how to prepare for the weather. Why would you refuse to update her contract. Too bad poor choice, My opinion.

I will no longer be turning to 10, I will be TURNING OFF 10. Sinclair Broadcasting is a right wing Tump loving Fox News wannabe and apparently want their staff to look similar. Content is way more important to me than appearance but I'm sure your freshly minted Harvard MBAs, who know nothing, would disagree. Kelly Bates is the most competent/relatable person you could/do have on the air in the Providence market so if you decided to make her contract so bad you knew she wouldn't/couldn't sign it it just proves your disloyalty in brilliant colors and other not so perfect specimens of human appearance working at WJAR had better take note and start looking for work elsewhere as their time is also limited. Totally gutless management.
