when I heard about this I thought it was a joke, because is is upright silly for Meridian. Kathy has done a great job there and deserves to be there.

Kathy is not just an educator. She has taught my children the meaning of being involved in your school, your community, and most of all those that have less than you!

As a current student, I can say with pride that Kathy has always been there for me. Whether you are a new student, graduated 20 years ago, or if you have been at Meridian since pre-school or kindergarten, you know who Kathy is. She is always there for you and is the school mom. If you have a problem with your grades, you go to Kathy. If you have a problem with your attendance, you go to Kathy. If you aren't feeling good, you go to Kathy. If you need advice from someone who cares about you and your future, you go to Kathy. If you just need a hug, you go to Kathy. Kathy has impacted not only the school, but also the community and the students. She is a huge part of what Meridian is and what Meridian is like. She is welcoming and protects her "kids" like no other. Please, bring her back!!

I can honestly say that I would not have graduated High school if it wasn't for Mrs. Houser. Meridian has lost one of the most important employee's they ever had. The belief she has in all the students who walk through those doors is a true blessing. It's the belief that she has in her students that got me to graduate. Mr. Kort, I pray you bring Kathy back for sake of all the students who walk through the doors Meridian.

Kathy is the only person from Meridian that contacted me and tried to get me to re-enroll my children after I was told they wouldn't be added to the bus route. She told me she would personally take the situation to the school board and fight to have them but on the route so they could attend Meridian. She truly cares about the well-being of every student in that school past, present and future. She does so much more than people realize. She doesn't seek recognition or praise for her deeds, she does it because she cares and wants to see the school and it's children and faculty thrive. She does it because she is one of those rare individuals those heart beats not for herself but the those she loves even if they don't realize that she's going it or don't appreciate it. Not bringing her back would be a blow to not just the school but the community. You have the support of many Kathy, I pray Mr. Kort makes the right decision.

There is no one more willing to help with anything other than Kathy. She will do anything she can for anyone who needs it. Our school would definitely not function as well without her here and that's why we need her back. Although I will not be coming back next year I can vouch for the rest of the student body that they need Kathy. Please bring her back!

When we were considering option enrollment we talked with 4 area schools. Meridian was clearly the best choice. One of the reasons for our decision to come to Meridian was because of the professional caring we received from the first employee of the Meridian school district-Kathy. She is always kind and helpful, to students and parents. If she can not help she directs us in a positive way to someone who can. Kathy

There aren't even words to descibe the things that Kathy has done for the school over her 40 years of service. She pours her heart and soul into each student that walks throught those doors and continues the support even after they have graduated. We just recently held a benefit for the premature baby of a student that graduated in 2000 and Kathy was right there to help set up, work, organize etc. for the event. Her love and devotion to her job, students and peers is truly a gift that never stops giving!

This seems like an absolute no-brainer for the new Superintendent. There are very few people you'll encounter in your lifetime that could serve an organization and community as long as Kathy and still count the number of people who aren't members of her fan club on one hand. Mr. Kort has a chance to come in and immediately set a tone for right and wrong by correcting an obvious mistake. Failing to do so will accomplish quite the opposite.
Kathy…I hope you're reading all of these notes and know you're incredibly appreciated and loved by all those that had the privilege of receiving your help and guidance in our developmental years.
