I do not always agree with Mr. Jones, but I read his column because I think it is important to understand both sides of an issue. He supports his arguments with facts which help me understand how he thinks. Insecure people strive to silence their opposition. Secure people are willing to have a discussion between both sides. By eliminating the discussion, the management of the News and Guide show that they are insecure. They are also not doing their job.

I can't believe you would actually drop Jonsey because of a few negative reactons to his brilliant column it is obvious to all that read his column he knows what he is talking about and is right unlike his detractors.. why can't both sides be heard isn't that the 1 st amendment ???

I have known Maury for fifteen years. He is one of the most patriotic Americans I know. He tells the truth whether it hurts or not, and I for one support him 100%

This bias has not gone unnoticed. Please listen to what the (rest of) people are saying.

Was never so disappointed to read the paper last night. The only candle in the window was just blown out.

I enjoy Mr. Jones columns. There are always two sides to any story whether you agree with either side is another story. If you are only able to hear one side, then you do not have the WHOLE story. I say "Let's hear the rest of the story ", from Mr. Jones

I subscribed to the JHN&G for the exclusive purpose of reading and commenting on Jonesy's Column. Now that you have decided to remove the ONLY conservative view point, your paper is only good for lining the bottom of birdcages. Please, immediately discontinue my $8.00 per month subscription fee. I hope that ALL people who have subscriptions do the same. After working in law enforcement for almost four (4) decades, I know Censorship is Only when the Government prevents information from being disseminated. That is a heinous act and crime. The ONLY more heinous act is Self-Censorship! The JHN&G is in the process of committing this act! It seems to be a trend in the United States that people (liberals) who cannot stand their distorted facts and ideas be questioned immediately claim that the discussion is over and then BAN these opposing ideas. I guess the owner and employees of JHN&G are seeking their "SAFE SPACE" so they can control what they hear and not have to question their own ideas that they have been programmed into believing without question and Now Discussion. The United States Constitution lists the First Amendment as being Freedom of Speech because it is the MOST important! To Voluntarily Remove this shows just how low the liberals in the media have become. GOD Help the United States and GOD Bless my friend Jonesy! SeanM...

I would like to continue with the balanced approach that Mr. Jones brings to the table. Readership will surely decline when only one view is presented. Let both views be presented so folks can make up their mind with all the facts available.

There ARE two sides to most issues. You do your readers a service when another side is presented.

I read Jonesy's column and got the message he is no longer going to be printed in the News and Guide. Then I got a message about this poll, so here I am. Though not much of an "animal" person, I still find his writing interesting. It was revealing how many vitriolic responses were posted on line. They were often posted by the same persons week after week and even several times to the same column. Jonesy would reply and explain his reasoning but to no avail, the complainers still threw out the negative comments. Were they just "Trolls"? I would appreciate the News and Guide placing several columns to counter the quite liberal bent to the regular regular posts and syndicated items. Bob

What is your reason for discontinuing Jones' column? Are you afraid of conservative, possibly unpopular viewpoints?
