Bring Back Jonesy's Voice and Let Both Sides Speak!

I object to the JHN&G's bias in deleting one point of view vis a vis another. You are not being tolerant! Bring Mr. Jones back to the JHN&G!!

Limiting differing viewpoints is a slippery slope. Let's not go there!

I lean classically liberal, and as such am opposed to reading "conservative" AND "progressive" propaganda. In JH, "both sides" are roughly on the same side, both want big government doing what THEIR individual side thinks is better. Both want to steal 25% to 50% of the fruits of my labor, and both have fallen for the global "sustainability" thing. Both believe they know better than me how to spend my money and how I ought to live my life and enjoy my property. Jonesy is perhaps a bit less in line with the "acceptable" liberal/conservative false dichotomy narrative, and as such I understand that his perspectives are not always in line with what the Teton County ruling class would prefer to direct it's subjects to embrace. I absolutely understand why you choose not to share his voice, likely "for the public good" under the guise of his work not being appealing to your readership. Unlike the "right" and "left" I am cool with your paper choosing to silence him, it is actually to be expected of the mainstream press. You will likely not sell any fewer papers. I advertise with some of your sister companies, and I do so because of your readership. It is a business decision. I will continue either way, just as you don't care what product I advertise, so I don't care if your editorial direction is far more totalitarian and Marxist-leaning than the opposite Rothbardian perspective with which I am inclined to lean. It is actually very telling that the one slight whisper of a voice of dissent is silenced... sad, and entirely your right to do so.

Keep Jonesy! When we conservatives see an article we don't want to read, we simply skip over it. When liberals see an article they don't want to read, they complain. Good journalism and free speech says to publish both, and let the reader decide if they want to read it or not. Don't be swayed by those who complain, thinking they are the only ones who care.

Please try to keep your publication balanced

Restore some semblance of balance. Please do not cancel Maury Jones' column in the interest of common sense, limited government and moderate thinking.

You did a great service to the community when you invited Jonesy to be a regular contributor. Jonesy is uniquely Western after the likes of Will Rogers. His cowboy sense of humor and down to earth point of view are both entertaining, refreshing and especially thought provoking. The most recent rash of letters to the editor are proof enough that Jonesy makes people think. Now, you have done an even greater disservice to Jackson Hole by silencing him. Bring him back, you'll be glad you did.

You are a bunch of unredeemable deplorables for stopping Jonesy's column. He is the one writer who makes common sense and does so with facts, not name calling like those who oppose what he has written. As always, liberal political idiocy reigns supreme at your paper.

Again, the JHG displays its extreme bias against the 1st Amendment. Bias by labeling and continuing to tag conservative writers, politicians and groups with extreme labels while leaving liberals alone. Responsible conservatives are continuously stigmatized as "far right," "ultra-conservative," or "right-wing extremists," while radicals, even Marxists, are called "progressives," "liberals," or "moderates." Conservative writers and groups are identified as right wing conservatives, while liberal groups are described in neutral, fuzzy “feel good terms”. We have only kept our subscription as long as we have because of Mr. Jones articles and honest opinions, which we would like to see continue. It’s a sad day for journalism when narrow minded readers complaining about opinions they don’t agree with is the cause of your discontinuing differing opinions. I would complain about your liberal writers if I thought for a second that the same outcome would be applied. Please reconsider and reinstate Mr. Jones column.

Just because you are following the trail doesn't mean it's the only trail and it doesn't mean it's the right trail. How will you know you are lost if you don't stop to look in different directions
