Joneys speaks the truth. I love reading his column. Bring it back..

Sometimes I do not understand or agree with what Jonesy has to say on topics, I DO very much enjoy reading his comments. He is very civilized in his presentation and even in his replies to some strong nagging objectors. It is a shame that we will not be able to enjoy his great sense of humor in his messages. We owe it to our youth! You will teach them to enjoy and engage in public debate. If you want to change the world according to your political beliefs, you should run for public office.

It's time for people in media to support the purpose of journalism, which is to allow a variety of voices to be heard (with a focus, first and foremost, on accuracy), not to reduce discourse to one point of view.

Bring mr jones back for his views and great topics

Your removal of Mr Jones column only supports the well know liberal/progressive bias of your new paper. An article every other week with a different slant than you constantly produce was refreshing and mind opening for many. His views represent a large contingent of this valley's population, especially those who have lived her a long time or who appreciate the culture that was here when ranching was it's main economic activity. Respect for your product has hit a new low with me and many others.

I have always enjoyed Joney's witty columns -- your paper would be boring without them, as much of the remaining content is predictable.

There is always more than 1 side to a story. Let them be heard.

Since you insist on being biased in your presentation of "news" and commentary, I guess my bias will be to boycott your paper. Easily done!!!

I like to read what Mr. Jones has to say....please keep his weekly column.

Jones is one of my favorite Wyoming personalities. Ceasing his column reveals the old saw: To make a conservative mad, tell him the a lie; to make a liberal mad, tell him the truth. Please reinstate his column.

I read several state papers at our library where I grab a cup of coffee at the small cafe and head back to the stacks.

I am saddened and angry that the liberal media bias is being reflected in the discontinuance of Maury Jones' column. The integrity that should be exhibited that would be worthy of public trust for fair and equitable free speech is lacking. Please reinstate Maury Jones' column.

If we are going to have commentary ( which almost all journalism seems to be anymore) at least it needs to be balanced.

The JH News & Guide should consider it's local readers and offer a perspective that does not strictly aim to please its out of state and seasonal residents. Wyoming is beautiful and diverse in opinions but our paper is not. We used to be able to read an article offering an outfitter, rancher or hunters perspective but no more. I suggested a story to the publisher last year on an honorable double amputee veteran that was donated a hunt through the Jackson chapter of the RMEF and harvest a bull elk. The newspaper never expressed any interest in the story. A real shame that they chose to not cover and celebrate the service and sacrifice of a decorated Marine, the generosity of our local RMEF and the hunting heritage Jackson was founded on, all for fear of offending our out-of-state readers. Just one small example of the lack of balance in our small town paper. Hoping that the N&G brings back the western heritage that Jackson Hole was founded on and finds a way to incorporate a balanced perspective so that all can enjoy to read our local newspaper again.

Let the man write his columns as he sees fit. It's absurd to think anyone or any group can control anyone's freedom of speech and press..

I think it is healthy to issue an opposing view... creates conversations, starts people thinking....

I'm actually very liberal (a Berniecrat, in fact) and almost never agree with Mr. Jones. But I know many who do in this area and they are entitled to read from a columnist who supports their views. At the very least, Mr. Jones writes well and I enjoyed his sense of humor! Jackson is a diverse community and should be represented as such.
