As noted in the petition, my son also played AAU hockey this fall season with zero outbreaks. The MIAA has provided Covid protocols which are designed to keep players and coaches safe. Other area towns are following these guidelines and moving forward with their winter sports season. With depression and anxiety at an all time high amongst students due to this pandemic, sports is a positive outlet to combat and reduce depression and anxiety. I would like to see this decision reversed and allow our athletes to play this season like their counterparts will be doing in the surrounding schools/towns.
