Taking away the days kids look so forward to is ludicrous!!! Bring back the holiday parties!! Kids don't care about how fancy the parties are! I do think more parents should contribute, but as far as parents being unable to afford costumes for Halloween is ridiculous, anyone can throw something together, we did when we were kids!!!

I started working for a school district when my daughter started school, I was never able to join my older daughters class activities when they were growing up, which made me choose the profession I'm in now, working for a school I have the luxury to join every class function Malta has offered from K-2 I was extremely saddened when I read District 428 no longer was having class parties, I've helped with supplies and never questioned twice. My daughter only has 3 yrs left at Malta but if this helps in the future for other parents I'd love to help, as I enjoy seeing the smiles on these kids faces and I'm sure other parents do to.

My child's last year in grade school. This may not help this year but would love to help make it better for others!!
