In my childhood, we looked forward to school parties. The children should have that special time in their childhood!

Memories are a part of school. Holiday plays, music, etc. Don't take away these pleasures for everyone. We have to realize at some point we cannot make everyone happy. But everyone has an opt out right.

It's absolutely ridiculous to take this away from the kids. They enjoy these parties so much and really look forward to them. It's a tradition that's been passed down for decades now. Just because some people have a different opinion or religious beliefs doesn't mean the majority of the kids should suffer for the few that don't or can't participate. This is America and this is what we do. Love us or leave us!!!!

This is my first year as a stay at home mom and I would be able to have these special moments w my children. They are in fourth and second grade. They have always asked me to come and I haven't been able to make very many. Now that I'm able to they have stopped the parties. We need to stop taking the fun out of school for the children. For some this is the only time to have fun and get treats.

These kids deserve to know not every moment in life needs to be so serious. You can blend the fun with the work and still have a good time.

With two, soon three, children in District 428 I support reinstating seasonal parties. My kids are lucky to be exposed to multiple cultures and religions in every day life but that is not true for all District 428 families. I strongly believe we should expose them to as many cultural celebrations as possible. We should create learning experiences that also allow them to HAVE FUN and enjoy their peers different backgrounds inside the classroom.

My grandkids are very disappointed that there won't be any school parties anymore. They need to bring them back if there was no large reason that they took them away. Why take away the kids fun activities?
