UDM has a LARGE population of commuter students who should be able to use their friends swipes since most residential students don’t use all of their meal swipes anyway. Students are paying for the meals, so they should decide how they use them.

It is the students meal plan they paid for so they should be able to use it anyway they want

If I pay for my meal plan I should decide who and what I spend it on.

The university knows that many students end up with extra meals, due to the inconvenient hours of the dining hall as well as their lack of variety for meals. They are taking advantage of this fact because they are focused on trying to “save money”, although students pay the same at the beginning of the semester regardless of the meals they don’t even use. Universities wouldn’t exist without the students that work hard every day to earn a degree, and instead of supporting and serving the students, the dining hall is doing what they “feel” would be convenient for them. My boyfriend and friends still live at UDM and use a meal plan, and now we can no longer have dinner together after a long day of classes.

A policy passed in the shadows is a dagger towards the heart of the student body. A blow, if not staunched, cripples this institution's future and reduces confidence in its self-purported ideals.

We pay for these meals in our room and board cost therefore we should be able to let anyone use it the way we want. Thank you.

I would love to have this back! The students are paying for the meals!

This is absolutely ridiculous. When the University starts paying for our meals, then they can try and regulate how we spend OUR money. They also state that they want to prevent people from leaving the school, but what happens when students have guest and they cannot feed them? Absolutely terrible decision.

Personaly I feel that if a limit is required due to other constraints it should not be quite so restrictive. From what I can tell the change won't be profitable b/c in spite of it, students, not being able to use all their swipes, will have wasted money in addition to any food prepared to accomodate the aggregare of the different meal plans. Additionally, not being able to provide people with food as much as possible removes or at the very least, limits, a certain safety net for students (albeit w/o their card or meal plan) who simply may need to eat a meal to continue to be productive in an academic environment. Thank you.

Bringing guests to TDR actually makes me eat meals

Find other ways to make the school money. Limiting students food is immoral.

This is the only reason why I would go to TDR. They already scam students out of all their unused meals at the end of the semester, so why not let this happen? This university keeps charging more for everything and the quality is going down... #OpenUpLivernois

Students pay for the meal plans. Campus should not be allowed to determine how they use it.

This school is more worried about money than their students. It is truly sad.

This is unfair. Why is a meal plan so expensive if we can’t have more swipes for guests? Last year I literally had over 60 unused swipes while having guests. 5 is a joke!
