As a parent I believe if we are helping pay and there are swipes that are left that are paid for it should be up to the students to make that decision on how their funds are used.

My boyfriend goes there and it would be appreciated if I could eat with him when there.

My sister is a new freshman staying in Shiple this year. I decided to commute. MY FAMILY pays for both our tuitions and I can't always bring food to campus and we thought eating from time to time would be a good way to catch up. RIDICULOUS that my own SISTER can't give me more than 5 swipes when I ATTEND Detroit Mercy. I don't understand, we the students PAY our tuition so we should have the option to do whatever we want whether that's to give them to our guests OR donate them at the end of the year. This policy makes sense for something like guests you bring into your dorm room per month but with food? Are you serious? Our money. Our tuition that keeps Detroit Mercy running.

UDM’s just really finding ways to throw away money now. Keep the guest swipes unlimited. Keep bellies fed, and swipes used up by the end of the semester.

The food is paid for by the students. How they choose to use it is up to them. #freeswipes

This is completely absurd. We, students, pay for these meals. We should be able to swipe as many guests as we want. At the end of every semester, every student has both excess meals and flex, even after swiping more than 5 students in. Limiting guest swipes not only punishes those students, but also their friends who simply want to dine with them.
UDM is a joke.

How does that save money exactly?
