It costs me £1 to park just to run into the bus station to renew my son's bus pass, not even an hour free parking. Shopping...I go to Cwmbran I can take my time, have some lunch and do my food shopping with out costing an arm and leg to park... Come on Newport pull your socks up and the residents what they want.

I’m signing this petition as I feel it would be more beneficial for Newport traders and residents to have to pay parking charges. I feel you’re losing out to Cwmbran who have no parking charges and therefore attract more customers.

I prefer shopping in Cwmbran and Spytty for the fact it’s free parking all day every day. Will never step into the city centre as you have to pay to park

Help Newport High Street businesses!!! Make it easier for shoppers! Most shoppers (like me) find it easier to use the alternative like Cwmbran as there is free parking!

Cwmbran has had free parking for as long as I can remember and it’s thriving, I don’t understand what NCC are trying to do to our town, surely they should be encouraging people to shop there!!!

Newport is a horrible place. No nice shops on the high street, only homeless in every corner. It’s such a depressing place. Why don’t you change it. Bring back the big shops for the high street.
