I' married into a Greek family and my son was baptize by father nick .
I am not very religious but he made me feel so comfortable and feel like family and made me feel like I belonged there . He did a great ceremony for my son and my family . My wife and our family is very upset that he is not there and we will never never go back unless he is there . Father nick should open his own church in Arlington it seems like the community would follow this kind man

I think the people of Arlington are owed an explanation of why their beloved priest is being ousted. It doesn't sound like the majority are in favor of this.

Really sad to read about this. Fr. Kastanas had been the soul of the parish, he gave us comfort and hope, and put a smile on our faces every time he talked to us in person.

Driving on Mass Ave today and glanced at the church where I saw a small group of parishioners and police. I checked it out and the parishioners were anquished as there was a huge moving van moving Fr. Athanasius personal belongings, etc. and a van that was changing the locks on the church.
This is disgraceful beyond words, No account of how or why this terrible travesty has happened. This has saddened many, please do not let this go. It is up to all the parishioners to keep fighting until we get Fr. Nick back. Sad, changing locks, how awful and heartwrenching it must be for him and his family as it is for all of us who love him. Father Kastanas is one of the most genuine, kind-hearted people I've ever met. He has always been there for our family through times of joy and moments of profound grief. Father Kastanas has devoted so much to the St. Athanasius community and beyond and deserves better treatment from the Greek Orthodox "authorities."

Father Nick is the epitome of a spiritual leader; he's compassionate, loving, wise. Throughout many years, Father Nick has supported our whole family - whether in our grief, or our joy - he has been generous of heart, spirit. Our whole family loves him. It's so disheartening to think that someone like Fr. Nick is treated so badly. In light of who he is, this decision feels much smaller, untruthful and political, than out of the tenets of kindness, or Christianity.
