I have known Father Kastanas for over 20 years. He has been there for our family without fail and is everything a priest should be according to Jesus's word. He counseled us, presided over our wedding, our children's baptisms and has been a wonderful mentor. He always greets us with a warm smile and hug! His sermons make me want to be a better person. I am praying for Father and his family and for all the parishners of Saint Athanisus that we will have our leader back.

Father Nick is a great man and did not deserve to be treated this way.

No one go to this church again until father Nick comes back! When church is empty every Sunday let's see how they will pay for the church mortgage. Everyone take your kids out of Greek school, no more donations, no more volunteering at festivals. Let's see how long the church will be able to stay open without father Nick.

Father Nick is a blessing to us. He is a fantastic priest and for anyone to think differently is ridiculous. He is a very special person who has helped so many including myself. There is no reason for this disgusting decision. Big mistake.

We are in shock!! Fr. Nick married my wife and I and is her Uncle (our Uncle). Please share and sign this petition to bring Father Nick back to his home parish!! We love you Theio Niko! Stay strong!!!!!

Father Nick was the glue that kept our church community together. It is unfortunate to watch him be treated this way. My family and I will always love Father Nick and remember his kindness and devotion.

My name is Demetris Maradianos and I have been a parishioner, and in the parish council ever since Fr Nick Kastanas stepped foot in the old church of St Athanasius. I need to inform you that Fr Nick has been a mentor for me and my entire family. The news that came out are horrible. Fr Nick needs to be reinstated in the Arlington church immediately. Any other action does not represent the Greek Orthodox church and faith.

I cannot believe how they are treating a priest and man of God. This is despicable! Often times it was the priests/bishops that were bad mouthed, ridiculed, and exiled that turned out to be the true saints: st. Maximos, St. John Chrysostom, St. Nektarios of Aegina, etc. God will have the final say! The judgement they give will be the judgement they will receive on the last day.

Fr. Kastanas is one of the most kind men I've ever known, and I am completely shocked by this absurd action. Moreover, the tone and unprofessionalism of the Metropolitan's letter is disgraceful. Fr. Kastanas has given his entire life to God and to the Greek Orthodox communities he has served with unwavering loyalty and dedication. This wreaks of political bullying by the church's leadership, and Fr. Kastanas deserves justice!

Father Nick has been and will always be my spiritual leader. You need to bring him back.
