This is such an unjust loss to father Nick and our community. My grandchild is devastated because this will lead to his friends being pulled out of that church. And he won't see his beloved priest anymore.

Father Nick selflessly dedicated 30 years of his life to others. Give some people a bit of power for a couple years (council) and it goes to their heads and enables them to creates divisiveness. Keep the politics and lame power plays out of religion. It should be the last sacred peaceful place when Christianity and kindness prevail. Life is imperfect but the church should be a safe haven where debates can end reasonably for the good of the church and its community. Father Nick married us and made time to come up to Sts. Constantine & Helen in Andover to baptize two of my children. He was also there for my wife Di and sat with her after a horrible car accident as she repaired both mentally and physically. Bishop Methodios, if you or your staff are reading the comments I hope due process was respected and all sides were heard. Judging by the petition signatures (720 at this point) I am guessing the "true" community was not listened to. You letter to the community lacked taste and respect for one of the "good ones" who gave 30 years of his life to the priesthood which should be protected within reason of course. Respect the virtually unanimous voices of your flock and reinstate Father Nick. Even though this is a religious arena learn from business. It's not long ago when the Market Basket drama went down and the community and employees rallied around the "good one"... and guess who prevailed.

Father Nick is a staple in the Arlington Greek community. He is a man full of life and his passion for his faith makes him the best best priest I know. Keep Father Nick in Arlington!!!!

Father Nick is the reason the Arlington parish flourished and became what it is today. In my opinion, a fine man and priest!

Fr. Kastanas loves God more than any man I have ever seen before. His love for God is shown through his deep love and care for his parish and spiritual children. May God grant him many years!

I AM WRITING AGAIN, WE MAY NOT KNOW ALL THE FACTS BUT TO DEFROCK A PRIEST LIKE FR. KASTANAS AFTER ALL THE YEARS OF SERVICE AND HOW HE HAS TOUCHED THE LIVES OF MANY. THE COUNCIL HAVE BECOME GREAT PROBLEMS TO THE PRIESTS AND CHURCHES. SHAME ON THE BOARD FOR ALLOWING THIS TO COME TO PASS. MAY THE GRACE OF GOD BRING BACK THIS WONDERFUL WORTHY PRIEST.

One of the greatest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. This is a disgrace and an outrage. These people should be ashamed of themselves and the head of the church (Methodios) should be fired for letting his church get out of control. This man has poured his heart and soul into this parish and is now out with no good reason? Get him back.

In all my interactions with clergy at all levels, from faculty at Holy Cross, to parish priests, to bishops, metropolitans, and even the Patriarch, I have never met a more devoted, human, representative of our faith and Christianity overall. Father Nick is the epitome of Christian devotion and has been a compelling influence in my spiritual life and the life of the community. I am shocked and dumbfounded by this news, and find it unfathomable that a man of his stature and accomplishments has been so disregarded.

Fr. Nick is truly a man of God. It shows in all of his deeds and every word he speaks. This is a travesty that must be corrected, not only for Fr. Nick but for all Greek Orthodox Christians who have had the privilege of meeting him and have been Blessed with his love of God that shines so brightly.
