About fifteen years ago, I was teaching grade 7 at the Fitzgerald School in Cambridge. My Social Studies class was doing a unit on World Cultures World Religions. I reached out to Father Nick so I'd have a deeper understanding of Greece and Greek Orthodox Christianity. After Father Nick spent several hours with me, I was more prepared for my students. I have never forgotten the kind nurturing session with him.

I want to express my sincere distaste in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese's decision to terminate Father Nick Kastana as acting clergy from the St Athanasius Greek Orthodox Church.
Father Nick has been a uniting factor in bringing this community
together for close to 30 years. Not only has he brought the young people back to the church through his love, passion and kindness, he has made every one of us grow closer to the church and to God.
He is an amazing priest that has brought us peace and comfort through our most difficult times with his spiritual guidance, love and selflessness.
I pray and hope that with the love of God and peace that this issue will be resolved and that the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will reconsider its decision and reinstate Fr Kastana.
We love our priest and we want him back!!!!!

Father Nick is a shining beacon of integrity and agape. I hope he soon returns to the position of spiritual leader and guide at St Athanasius.

Father Kastanas is the best priest we have ever had in our parish. He had done so much in bringing the community together. He has done wonders with the children in different organizations. People have come from different communities to be a part of our parish and all because of Father Nick. I can't believe this is happening and it's going to be a big loss.

Father Nick baptized both my children and spoke at my father in law's funeral service. It is because of him and the warm welcoming environment he fosters that keeps us in the church. That this man who is such a beloved and faithful man of God is treated so shabbily makes me question who those behind this thoughtless act serve, because it is clearly not the paritioners in the pews or the children in the school.

I have met Fr. Kastanas and he is an outstanding priest and human being as well. Why was he removed?

I am deeply saddened to learn that Farther Kastanas has been fired with little or no explanation. I believe it is cowardly for the archdiocese or resident council to fire the best priest in the whole metropolitan area bases on little or no information. Farther Kastanas has always been very kind, loving and supportive to me and my family. Farther Nick has brought life and vitality back to the church and the community. The children absolutely adore him as due the adults. Pt reconsider this decision and bring Farther kastanas back!!!!!

"Bring back Father Nick", he is so compassionate & caring. Baptized my grandchildren and was there for the family when my husband was so very sick and passed away. It doesn't make sense to let someone go who has been with us for so many years.

Arlington is a Democratic City, Massachusetts is a Democratic State. Thus, Citizens have an obligation to become informed about public issues, to watch carefully how their leaders and representatives use their powers, and to express their own opinions and interests. None of the aforementioned occurred... Needless to say, Father Nick's righteousness was completely overlooked and disrespected. If nothing is done about this, a true modern day Greek Tragedy has occurred..

He has been wonderful to all for so many years. He is the spirit of that church. The parish has a right to know why such a thing would occur, otherwise put this man back wher e he belongs at St. Athanasisus.

This is outrageous! Fr. Nick has been the staple of the church and the community. You would never find a more loving man, caring and gently soul!
