To say the least I am devastated and heartbroken. I have worked with Father and he is one of the finest priests that we can all be grateful that he is part of our lives. He has given so much to many and it is important then we now come to help him as he has helped all of us. There always were a few people who had an agenda at this church different than 99% percent of the faithful. I never thought it would come to this. The Bishop has been influenced by these very few. This was done many years ago to Father Manikas in Weston but not like this. Those responsible should be ashamed and our beloved community will suffer. It only seems like yesterday, when we marched up Massachusetts Avenue to our new church and everyone worked so hard to make this church so beautiful for St. Barbara's Day. This was the first event in the new church. I served the Bishop and his sister who was there and told him, it was Father Nick who gave us the strength and the guidance to make this happen. He should read all the testimonials here in this petition to understand what this man means to us, our families, our parish, our community and our way of life. I was with him as he waited hours for a parishioner who was injured in an accident, I knew that my mother was going to die one night and I asked him to come to Hyde Park and administer last rites. He was so busy but he came and spoke lovingly in Greek and smoothed her hair, and spoke to her. He prayed for her soul and for us. We have all suffered some of our worst days in life with Father Nick and we, as humans, all know that we will have more of those days. I battle cancer everyday and it is the thought that I can always call Father Nick if I need to help me get through the pain and the fear. When I die, I knew Father will be there to help my girls. It is this thought that helps me to try to be strong. He knows our secrets and we have burden him with our problems and he comforts us and loves us and gives us the strength to continue on i

The most common phrase in 2017 -"the deep state"-the shadows in the background creating havoc in the foreground. Dissention and jealousy from the top trickles down to persecute the innocent. I can and will attest that Father is a quality individual that has a deep affinity towards his congregation. He is a peaceful soul that exudes nothing but love towards all of God's creatures. His youthful zeal will not be duplicated and his faithful devotion to the heavens needs to be preserved. Please be the voice for the voiceless and do what it right . Fwd this petition to the ones that father touched.

As I have so beautiful learned in confession with Father...Ὕπαγε ὀπίσω μου, Σατανᾶ.
No other priest can I contact at 2am when the battle is fierce. I rest assured because I know Gods will be done, and He cares for those who have their faith in Him. Just as the faith of bystanders was awakened at the sight of martyrdom, this has ignited a voice of prayer to our Lord, in petition and in thanksgiving, calling so many to remember the love Christ has embraced us with through the ministry of Father Nicholas.

Father Nick is the greatest priest I have experienced in my life. I cannot even believe this is happening. We were blessed to be members at the church for 4 years. He welcomed us with open arms to the church, baptized our youngest and continues to inspire us. He is such a gracious, compassionate and kind man and we have continued to support the church from out of state because of him. I don't know what politics are going on, but I feel insulted and betrayed that our spiritual leader has been taken away with no explanation or even common courtesy to consult the congregation. I hope this decision is reconsidered and I support Father Nick 100%.

Father Nick has married us, has baptized our children, and has made feel at peace whenever the need had arisen. There will never be another priest that brings peace and calm to your soul with a just a smile and a touch of his hand.

We have had the absolute pleasure of knowing Father Nick Kastanas for over 20 years. His kindness and gentleness truely exemplify Christianity. He is a wonderful priest. Father Nick should be returned to the Arlington Church and all his loyal parishioners.

When Father Nick, is so loved by his community, it makes me question the motives behind his reassignment and those few individuals. It also makes me question why I should continue to be part of this congregation. I guess I will have to think long and hard if I will return.
