Attended a Baptism of a family member's child. It was an inspiring service. Father Nick was professional but also educational. My children attended and were intrigued with the whole ceremony. Although a long ceremony, it was inspiring, enjoyable and a learning experience. Father Nick should not be relieved of his duties. If a priest can inspire people to participate and be involved, he is doing his job. Keep Father Nick!!

Dear Mr. or Mrs Anonymous, (very cowardly of you to not use your own name) This is a petition supporting Fr. Nick and fighting this decision. That's our choice!!!! If your opinions are of otherwise then you are not welcome here!!!

I love father nick he is a asset to this community. Im roman Catholic and i think father nick is a great man that should stay on as priest here in arlington. He is the most kind man i have ever meet. I truly believe this is a monumental mistake to lost such a wonderful priest.

This is heartbreaking news! I am completely disgusted by our parish council and their lack of keeping the community intacked. Just because you 15 people do not like someone does not mean you are allowed to destroy the community.

I'm sorry, with the church not giving their reasons, you have NO idea why they let him go. It could be for something not so serious, as you all seem so eager to believe ...OR, it could be what we so commonly hear about these days when it comes to our Catholic priests. What happens if you're all here fighting for him and it finally comes out that he was banished for very good reason ? Like with one of your children ? You can argue you know him, and he would never do such a thing ...but, you never know. I would demand the reasons before you fight to keep someone who could be doing great harm.

We were shocked and saddened by this totally unexpected action by the Metropolitan of Boston. Father Nick has always served his Parish as a wise and loving spiritual leader for close to 30 years. The truth behind this hurtful destruction of our Parish must come to light. May God bless Father Nick and his family and all our parishioners. Lee, Simon, and Katerina Krstanovic

I and my family are parishioners and stewards of Saint Athanasius. What are the grounds for Father Kastanas' dismissal? The Metropolitan's letter offered no details, only judgement. I find it hard to believe that our beloved priest and comfort would be party to anything untoward. I have always found Fr. Kastanas to be warm, loving, and a true gentleman. This news is distressing for all of us as stewards to our parish. Father Kastanas has helped us through the loss of my father, he was with us when he passed away. He married my wife and I, and baptized our two sons. We are heartbroken over this unexplained development. Please reinstate this good man. Anthony and Renata Duros, Medford, Massachusetts

It is inconceivable that this has happened to Father Nick. In my long lifetime, I have never met a more loving, Christian man. Please don't send him away from our church.

I grew up in the Greek Orthodox faith in Greece and in the US. Politics in church are unnecessary and discourage our youth from getting involved and staying involved!

Father Nick stands out as an extremely devoted and caring priest. He has helped me personally in time of great need. A priest's job is not an easy one. I thank God that men such as Fr Nick undertake such a calling and are there to help and guide us all.

Shame on the Parish Council. I don't know this priest, but he sounds like a very devoted man, who has worked tirelessly.
