Father Nicolas Kastanas is a wonderful Orthodox priest - a person of humility, compassion, simplicity, wisdom and integrity. He exudes a sense of joy and φιλοξενία, and universally offered a warm welcome to everyone who came to the parish - including visitors to the Boston area, of which I was one. I am deeply grateful for his kindness and support during the loss of a loved one and respectful and appreciative of his mentorship on spiritual aspects of music. Father Nick is a 24/7 priest - one of the most selfless and hardworking people one could ever meet.
If one had to select a single word to describe Father Kastanas, it would be αγάπη, a word that beautifully reflects how he has treated all of us. One could not help but feel inspired about Eastern Orthodox Christianity after interacting with him. I hope and pray that Father Nick may be returned to active ministry within his beloved parish of St Athanasius.

If the in-charge person was sincere. They would have gathered the people and could have resolved some of the problem. If in fact, they were concerned about their flock ! Why would you deny the general assembly. Wouldnt it have been better to have people air their grievances. They have created a turmoil in the church. This will affect not only Arlington, it will have a domino effect. HOW DARE SOMEONE CALL FATHER NICK THE "ANTI-CHRIST."

Thank you to T from Concord in giving the information as to Fr. Nick's Lawyers letter. What more can we do as a Church family? I am so saddened over this, they are scrambling to fill the church with new teachers, choir members. etc.
Thank you again

See the Facebook page #bringbackfathernick. That has Father Nick's lawyer's letter that details the relevant sequence of events. Father Nick has been such a strong and wonderful influence in our life and it is amazing to see all the beautiful support that surrounds him. God bless him and his family. I read about St. Necktarios the other night and see that he, too, faced such trials.

The letter from the Bishop and the Parish Council was cold and so out of touch with the people. but they are trying to cover up and rise above this terrible disgrace. The website of the attorney for Fr. Nick would not open It would be nice to know just where to find it. This will turn around for from what I can see there are not too many members left in St. Athanasius. Sad, very sad, I have lost respect for the ones that oversee our beautiful churches and faith. They should be fired!!

How is it that on the St. Athanasius website the Bishop, in his letter to the community, calls such things as this petition-- in which over 2000 people support and express their love and support for Fr. Nick--and other social media--a "ceaseless, multi-progonged attack." How is it, that people expressing their desire for answers to this sudden firing of a much loved priest be considered an attack? Why are the voices of the people being shut down?
Compare the Bishop's letter, the letter of the parish council and then read over this letter from the person representing Fr. Kastanas. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzMJsEV-ovjtNEw2SWtiRW02NTBiQ0FLY3V3aGo2Unh4QWpF/view
