for my excellent heart transplant.
My post-op condition required me
in/out of the hospital. During every
moment Dr. Zucker was there to
share his love & medical support.
He is the programs backbone that

It is hard to understand why Dr Zucker was singled out and the only dr on staff that was put on leave. Dr Zucker started this program from infancy stage. I don’t really think this fair or just . At the public meeting in the cafeteria with many patients were asked with no conclusive thought. This is something the rwj and st Barnabus board as well as all top administer must clearly think about. Dr Zucker has no goal other than saving lives when he wakes and drives East on rt78 every morning at six am for a long day. He has sacrificed his entire life for nbi it’s patients fellows collueges.

As we understand it, the story told by ProPublica is not the full story. We can only speak to the Dr. Zucker we know. The man, who's presence has guided the Heart transplant program for the last 30 years, the man who always has an interesting anecdote to tell, and the man who has a novel way of looking at things - yet explaining it in a way that makes complete sense and gives reassurance to a patient, a patient like myself who needed reassurance when I first visited Newark Beth several years ago. When we visited Newark Beth just 2 days ago, we could not feel Dr. Zucker's presence.
And that worried us.
Our words here are not so much meant as a defense, but more a request to act judiciously and not judge Dr. Zucker in such a way as to destroy him and take away his livelihood. We see this too often in the politics of the day where people are not only willing to tear someone down but also bury them. Again we ask NBIMC/ RWJBARNABAS to act with good judgement and not wrongful intention. We ask this sincerely.

I am the son of a heart transplant patient. Without him my father would not be here today; he received his heart in 1999. Dr. Zucker has been with us every step of the way. Bring him back to save more lives.
