This petition is to express our desire for Investigation Discovery to produce new episodes of the series 'Disappeared', in its original format. As of April 2015, it has been two years since a new episode, in the original format, was broadcast for the first time.
Disappeared was a show was like no other, with a clean, effective narrative style. Christopher Walker's excellent narration was strong, clear, and with the appropriate touch of foreboding relevant to a crime series.
While we appreciate the Disappeared 'specials', they are simply not the same as the original show. Simply put, why fix something that is not broken? While we appreciate that these specials provides a 'real time' perspective, it simply does not make for such engaging television. The beauty of Disappeared was that it told the story from beginning to the point when the leads ran out - even if that was years later. Relying on recent disappearances does not allow for such a long term look at a case.
We have heard reports of a new season of Disappeared being produced in a similar 'real time' approach to that of the specials. Again, this is simply not the Disappeared we came to know and love.
Furthermore, covering some older cases - or 'cold cases' - generates new awareness of disappearances no longer focused on by the media. Disappeared therefore was an invaluable form of exposure. We have no doubt many families have appreciated the new interest and awareness the show has generated in the case of a missing loved one.
Disappeared was in a different league in terms of it's quality of storytelling in the crime genre. The lack of new episodes is a disappointment felt across the wider community of true crime viewers.
Please do not let Disappeared disappear forever.

Please bring back Disappeared and air it just as it was. There's no other program that on television that truly lets the family's tell their story of their missing loved one.
As someone who had my only sissy missing for 6 months, and found murdered...I know how much hope this show gives those who are missing. It was one of the decent shows on Investigative ID that have now been replaced with more sex/murder shows. Putting the faces of the missing out there means the world to people, and is far more positive than alot of shows now on ID.
This is one of the best of the best on ID (especially now with all the lame shows like Wives with Knives and Southern Fried Homicide). It is well done for intelligent people who are interested in cases for more than just the torrid details. And Last Seen Alive is no where near the quality of Disappeared. Please, please bring back Disappeared in the original format!
im a police officer and I watched every week. great way to help missing people and great tool for law enforcement to use to work w other agencies.
With all the over the top glam porn ID churns out daily it's nice to have a show based more on facts, They made never find the person in question but at least their story is out there an just maybe one day the person will be spotted and brought home safely so surely this is a good thing!! sooooooooooo BRING IT BACK!!
Bring back Christopher Walker!!!
This has helped so many families...please. I'll never forget the first show I watched about Kara Kopetsky. Please help bring peace to these familes.

Please bring the show back and feature more african American person it's a demand off missing people and they don't get media coverage.
