Last week, she was suspended from work - pending being fired.
We, the students of GWU, demand that Darnelle be reinstated in her job. Regardless of the circumstances of her suspension, we cannot allow this woman, a staple of the GWU dining experience, to be dismissed. Of the many unnecessary and negative changes that J Street has undergone in the past four years, Darnelle's suspension (and likely dismissal) is the greatest travesty.
It is time for campus dining to truly give the students what we want - and bring Darnelle back!

Darnelle has looked out for us for decades and now we need to show the administration exactly how much she means to this campus. We are nearing five hundred signatures and hitting that goal will force them to acknowledge that we will not let her go quietly.

Walking past J-Street the last few days has been incredibly difficult because the silence where Darnelle used to be is deafening. I am currently reaching out to administrators who have the power to reverse this decision and I will share any response I receive. She has looked out for us for decades and now it is our turn to look out for her.

As a GW graduate and past leader on the campus I am saddened by this story and the fact that this has been allowed to occur. You should not and cannot allow for a mother providing for three children to be dismissed from a job where she brings students so much joy due to pettiness such as seeking revenge. It's inconceivable and tasteless, quite frankly.
Seriously, J Street? We love Darnelle, and she's the home away from home here at GW. Please bring her back.
I LOVE Ms. Darnelle! One of the sweetest people I've ever met in my life. If you get rid of her, you get rid of one of the most influential people I've met during my GW experience.
Darnelle has always served me with a smile on her face. She is one of the only reasons I go to JStreet. I will no longer be going to JStreet until Darnelle is back.
Darnelle was a shining beacon of hope during my three years at GW. I know this sounds dramatic but it is the truth. Darnelle helped me everyday by just saying hello and giving a smile, even when she didn't know I was going through some of the toughest times of my life. Please let me know who I can contact in the administration to rectify this.
I have been wondering why I haven't seen her smiling face. Bring Darnelle back. She brings happiness to so many GW students!
