As an active member of Oakton sports, we have practice every day after school. I can't sacrifice practice time to get a better grade on a test. If you get rid of Cougar time, I won't have as much time to study, complete assignments that I otherwise wouldn't have time for at home, or even time to retake and makeup tests/quizzes. You only see the students in the halls not utilizing Cougar time. What you don't see are the hard working students in the classrooms who are using every second of CT to their advantage.

Cougar time lets students use the most of their time at school especially for test corrections or extra help. It can also be a time to "recharge" after stressful classes. The majority of students use CT to their advantage and it is unfair to them if CT is taken away because of problems a minority of students cause.

Free periods are a break that we all need in order to cool down. Removing that will make us work harder and make us tired.

I don't have cougar time this year, but I'd like there to be a cougar time stool by the time I'm a junior. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

As a busy student, I sometimes have practice and rehearsals everyday after school. I need cougar time to do hw and study. Cougar time is also a necessary for students to do retakes, test corrections, and complete timed assessments that do not fit into third period. Taking away cougar time will increase the stress of students and hurt everyone’s mental health.

Cougar time has served as a great opportunity for me to catch up with old teachers, meet with teachers for subjects I need help in, and complete homework. It isn't fair to hardworking students who legitimately use the time. Punish the kids who take advantage of Cougar time, not the kids who use it for it's intended purpose.

The majority of the students follow the rules of cougar time and it benefits us greatly, it is the small minority of the students here that are deciding to waste their potential and disobeying the rules of Oakton High School as well as some laws of our country.
