This petition is to show we are against Bridal Suppliers & Designers supplying ex-sample/discontinued/old & over-ordered stock to clearance houses such as TK MAXX.

As independent retailers we feel that if a designer has dresses that they need to dispose of, then they should do the philanthropic thing of donating them to charity or sending them abroad.

We have to support our suppliers by buying minimums and putting up with regular discontinuations of gowns we have invested in, and we would like them to support us by not offloading their old stock to the high street which is, in the current climate a direct competitor.

I spent the morning looking at a gown that used to cost a fortune now being tossed onto a rack with discount kitchen towels and honestly it makes my stomach turn. People keep emailing me their own horror stories about seeing these dresses undervalued in such a careless way and it just fuels the fire for me even though some of these suppliers keep ignoring my calls like I am not even there.

I really thought this might just be a small vent session but seeing the momentum build makes me realize how many of us are actually feeling the burn of these offloading practices. It is honestly heartening to know I am not the only one frustrated by the way these designers treat our partnerships while we are out here trying to keep our shops alive and relevant.

So frustrating. Boutiques put in all the effort and then this happens.

Totally unfair to small businesses working hard to keep their shops open. Designers need to show some loyalty to the stores that actually sell their brand.

Buying a wedding dress is supposed to be a special experience with a consultant. It ruins the whole magic when you see them dumped on a rack next to discount kitchenware.

If they have extra stock just give it away to charity rather than trying to undercut the local economy. Bad look for these designers.

My family owns a shop and this is heartbreaking to watch. Suppliers are just looking for a quick buck at our expense.
