As one of the major influencers of American popular music, Brian Douglas Wilson deserves his place among those who have already received the Library of Congress's Gershwin Prize.

2007 -Paul Simon
2009 -Stevie Wonder
2010 -Paul McCartney
2012 -Burt Bacharach & Hal David
2013 -Carole King
2014 -Billy Joel

"Brian Douglas Wilson (born June 20, 1942) wrote, sang, arranged and produced more than 2 dozen top 40 hits for his band the Beach Boys. Because of his unorthodox approaches to song composition and arrangement and mastery of recording techniques, he is widely acknowledged as one of the most innovative and influential creative forces in popular music by critics and musicians alike."

Called a musical genius, by George Martin - producer of the Beatles, Brian Wilson is truly an American treasure.
