Please allow the new school to be named after my dear friend Brenda. Her accomplishments speak for themselves but her love and compassion overflowed to all who knew her.

I grew up with Brenda Cowan and her family. She was always an excellent person who sought to serve others and her community. There is no one more deserving of this honor than Brenda. Please name the school for her as it will inspire many young people to follow her life of service.

I think that this would inspire girls and the community as a whole, especially if the values of Lt. Cowan were emphasized. It is a great initiative.

My dad became a lieutenant in the same group as her. For a school to honor her name and her memory would be so meaningful and respectful towards the heroes of Lexington; the firefighters and other service men and women.

Had the priviledge of knowing this wonderful young lady through high school and in college at UK. Naming the new school in honor of Brenda Cowan would be a fitting tribute to a woman who demonstrated kindness and humility all her life.
