Not only does she deserve this honor, after giving her life for this city, but women deserve to be counted among those honored.

I went to school and rode the bus with Brenda. She was a great person then and went on to serve and protect and give back...she sadly gave her life but I'm sure she ran in to do her job not thinking of herself. I hope that they name the school after her. I was honored to know her

As a long time teacher in Fayette County, I think naming our newest high school for Brenda Cowan is the most appropriate way to honor her sacrifice.

I was the first female on my fire department. I am the mother of a daughter and I think we owe it to our daughters, sisters, mothers, grandmothers and neighbors in or communities to provide more positive powerful female role models.

I'm a retired Firefighter and proud of all my brothers and sisters Firefighters! I knew Brenda and saw her the day of the tragedy. This would be a great name for the new high school. FCPS board, open your hearts and let this happen to our fallen HERO!
