Attended Union County School where she was inducted into our school walk of fame for her service and dedication to many communities. Her legacy continues to live on because I am only 20, and proudly know who she is and what she represented!

I went to school and rode the bus with Brenda. She was a great person then and went on to serve and protect and give back...she sadly gave her life but I'm sure she ran in to do her job not thinking of herself.
I hope that they name the school after her. I was honored to know her

I was the first female on my fire department. I am the mother of a daughter and I think we owe it to our daughters, sisters, mothers, grandmothers and neighbors in or communities to provide more positive powerful female role models.

I'm a retired Firefighter and proud of all my brothers and sisters Firefighters! I knew Brenda and saw her the day of the tragedy. This would be a great name for the new high school. FCPS board, open your hearts and let this happen to our fallen HERO!

Finally, a worthwhile person to name a school for that people in this generation remember.
Parents of students at this school can tell her story and the kids can have a sense of pride about the person they represent.

I'd rather honor someone who lived and worked in Lexington. The other proposed names are nice and have meaning. But ms Cowan gave her life while helping others right here.

Here's to honoring the memory of a woman who lit the way for so many of us females in the FF/EMS industry.
