I strongly support the proposed project for Edina High School skiers and all Edina residents. Hylands does not support skiing for the entire HS team.

I am a resident of Edina and would be pleased to have another option for skiing on man made snow.

This addition would present Edina as a leader in promoting outdoor education, physical fitness, and community empowerment through sport, adventure, and nature preservation.

That makes"snow sense"in the long term...
I mean legitimate biological, ecological and logical sense.
That may not be included in legislative or corporative sense:(

Man made snow captures the cold in the form of snow and saves it like an ice chest. I wouldn't be surprised if making snow is a defense against global warming. Howver, it would need to be done on a much larger scale. Cutting trees for this trail isn't going to impact global warming when they can be planted elsewhere in Braemar park to offset any required clearing.

Kassandra,
Trees prevent global warming.
Man-made snow does not.

I am a parent of an Edina Nordic skier that would benefit so much from this project. The proposal would certainly contribute to a world-class community like Edina.

Global warming has made Minnesota winters far less predictable than they have been in the past. Without man-made snow, many of us cannot enjoy non-ice dependent outdoor recreation during significant stretches of the winter months. I would go so far as to say that Edina truly NEEDS this project to move forward.

Adding trails to Braemar will make the park far more accessible to residents. There are some trails in that woods now, but they are occasionally overgrown and mostly used by neighbors to walk their dogs. I grew up within a block of the proposed loop and wish it had been there when I was in high school! It will be a great addition for the high school team, xc skiers in the metro, and recreational skiers from Edina.

The addition of these ski trails and snowmaking will bring active health benefits to the community and
enable the Edina Ski team to continue to have a long lasting positive affect on young peoples lives.

I owned a house near Hyland Ski Area- the most expensive and fastest selling houses face the ski area.

The time is right to acknowledge the growth of Nordic, trail running and Mtn biking and enhance the proud offerings of Edina parks. I will gladly "pay to play"!

Snow is in short supply these days. Cross Country skiing is a great lifelong sport that everyone can enjoy.

We support creating cross-country ski trails at Braemar. Not only would they be great for the EHS ski team, but adults could use them as well.

I fully support this. I live in St. Paul and I'd drive there to ski. Big fan. This would be an asset to Edina and cause people to drive to your city.
