I think that that it is a great idea. It would relocate the present track from below the HS. 3 k is a short track, but the hills would make it interesting. I think that it would be nice to have a ski hut for cold days.

My family of 4 and I will use this trail as often as possible (probably 20 times a year ish). I live near the Edina/Mpls boarder.

I think that this would be a fantastic addition for the metro ski community. Please add it.

Wirth Park also has plans to expand snow making. Como has snow makers, but they are no longer making snow.

There is also a major effort underway in St Paul to add snow making to Battle Creek Park. You can find more details at http://www.makesnoweastmetro.org/

Hello, I want to make sure that snow making doesn't only become part of the wealthy suburbs. Please make sure to expand at places like Como, Theo Wirth etc.

This would be a great addition to our city - it will provide more outdoor winter opportunities for our families, and provide some much welcomed ski trails for residents and the EHS Nordic Ski team. I was so happy to hear about the plan.

I'm in support of this trail that will allow Edina residents to have more outdoor winter activities close by, as well as giving the EHS Nordic Ski team a prime location for practicing!

Please make this happen. It will be sure to give back so much to all of the people of the great community it is surrounded by. Cross country skiing is a life long sport that can be enjoyed at every age, and at every level from Olympic to recreational. This will be a great addition to all the families and citizens of Edina.

My family lives immediately adjacent to the Golf Course. The ski trails in the winter would be a very nice amenity, complementing the golf course in the summer. At least three people in our family would regularly use the ski trails, including my daughter, who attends Edina Public Schools and will be on the ski team this coming winter. Although I live on Gleason Road, I am not particularly concerned about traffic issues. It is hard to see how the traffic for skiing in winter would be any greater than the traffic for golf in the summer. As for worries about snow migrating onto the road, this concern also appears overblown. Prior to living in Edina, our family used to live in Maple Grove, and the snow making machines there (at Elm Creek Park) did not dump snow onto the park access roads. The purpose of the machines is to put the snow where it belongs -- on the trails -- and the volume of snowmaking is simply not on the scale of a downhill ski area like Buck Hill where those types of issues come into play because of the vast area being sprayed (and the heights at which it is sprayed). Finally, as for concerns about trees being cut down, it is evident from the design that the canopy will remain and the narrow band of trees that are cut will not be visible to anyone other than those actually using the trails. I don't see a lot of downside here. On the other hand, there is clearly a need in light of the loss of the trails by the high school and the lack of facilities with snowmaking generally.

This will be of benefit to the Edina High School ski team and all area residents who enjoy the fun and benefit of Nordic skiing.

The trails at the high school were established when my children were on the Nordic team and being able to practice near the school made a tremendous difference in the teams ability. Please create practice trails at Breamar for everyone to enjoy.

I support using our parks/golf courses year round. I live near Braemar and I am not worried about over spray on the road; I live in Minnesota!

How much have we spent on golf and hockey? This is a great proposal and uses public land year-round.
